Hi Friends,

What a wonderful few weeks of making music! It's such a heart-filled activity and I'm so grateful I do what I love and I love what I do.

I had the absolute pleasure of being the special guest composer, arranger and performer at QPAC Concert Hall on Sunday for Brisbane Sings 2017, alongside Kirby Shaw. If you're a choir geek like me, you'll know that name. Kirby has arranged over 1300 songs for choirs and is a full-time arranger for Hal Leonard. So having arranged my 3rd and 4th choral pieces for this event was an honouring and beautiful experience. These opportunities are integral to my growth as an artist, and I thank Brisbane Sings for their belief in me.

One of the songs I wrote and arranged was inspired by the painting "The Kiss" by Gustav Klimt, which I performed with Queensland Show Choir's More Than Words choir and QSO cellist and musical director, Craig Young.

Here is a pic of the performance of that song, which I'll also be performing at the below Xhibition: Sight and Sound House Concert. Many thanks to David Trappett for the picture and When Freddie Met Lilly for the gorgeous gown.

Brisbane House Concert

Xhibition: Sight and Sound
Sun 20 August 4-7pm
Secret House Location, Hamilton (Brisbane)
Tickets $10-20, Kids under 10 free, All Ages

As the showbags sell on the last night of the Ekka 2017, not far away in a gorgeous house in Hamilton will be a showcase of a very different kind.

I Heart Songwriting Club presents “Xhibition: Sight and Sound”. A combined exhibition of art and music featuring songs by Francesca de Valence, Boatkeeper, Louise Isackson and Hannah Athanasiadis, and recent art works by visual artists Louise Isackson and Kellie North will be on display.

Although there’ll be no cattle show, wood chopping or apple pie competitions at this event, you will experience a social night of cultural treats from home grown artists of both sight and sound. A pre-purchased ticket is the only way to attend.

I'm very excited about this show. I only just recently realised that one of the things I'm doing is creating performance opportunities and paid work for other artists around the world. This excites me SOOO much. I hope you can be there to support us all and that you are doing what you love too.

All the Love
